Hello Everyone!

Hello Everyone! It's Kevin and I would like to thank you for taking the time to visit our blog page. Orry, Trevor, and I hope that you enjoy following the ups and downs of our rodeo season! We have quite the journey infront of us as we look to climb to the top of the amatuer and profession ranks.

Recently, Trevor and I returned home from the College National Finals Rodeo in Casper, WY. The Casper committee for the CNFR and the NIRA did an outstanding job with the rodeo and it was a fun week for all of us. Trevor and I competed for Montana State Univeristy and the Big Sky Region, and while we had some trouble throughout the week we both managed to place in a round. I placed 2nd in the 2nd round with an 8.5 second run in the tie down roping and Trevor and Tyler Erickson placed 7th in the round of the team roping with a 7.5 second run.

The short round of the CNFR was on June 15 and because I am a student regional director for the Big Sky Region I was required to stay for the final performance. This wouldn't have been a problem except for the fact that Trevor and I had to be in Belt, Montana at 8:00 am on the morning of the 16th for a Montana Circuit Pro Rodeo. So, we watched the 2013 National Collegiate Champions be crowned and then got on the road around 10:30 p.m.. Trevor and I were accompanied by my girlfriend, Danielle, and our good friend Kody, he ended up 5th in the nation in the bulldogging, and Orry was meeting us in Belt.

I was lucky/smart enough to take the first shift of driving while everyone was still awake and talkative after the finale of the College Finals. I drove to Sheridan, Wyoming and then threw the reins of the Dodge Pickup to Kody who drove us to Billings, Montana. Trevor took the final stretch and we safely arrived in Belt around 5:00 a.m.  That may sound like a crazy trip to some, but it is all part of the 'rodeo road'.  I wish that I could post the videos of our winning runs from the Belt rodeo, but a barrier in the calf roping and a 5 second penalty in the team roping kept us from coming home with checks in our pocket.

Needless to say we were fairly happy to see the Gallatin Valley of Bozeman, Montana when we got back home that night. The last week has been a lot of practice to get our horses and ourselves tuned up for the rodeos coming up. Well, thanks for checking in on us and we look forward to having you follow us through our travels this season!
